Taxation in Decatur County is out of control. Have a voice against higher taxes. Vote Andrew Brunni for County Council.
One of the most important roles of the County Council is taxation. Currently, Decatur County's Wheel Tax is DOUBLE the highest of any of our neighboring counties. Additionally, Decatur County's Income Tax is 2.5%, almost DOUBLE Ripley County's.
If elected, you can count on me to vote "NO" on any tax increase, especially a Food and Beverage Tax. In fact, I will work to find ways to reduce the overall tax burden on Decatur County residents.
If elected to the Decatur County Council, I will serve no more than two consecutive terms. Although not a power the County Council holds, I support limiting both the County Council and Commissioners to two terms.
I fully support our local small businesses. There are two ways that local governments can effectively help small businesses. Firstly, they can use appropriate channels to promote small businesses and their economic development.
Secondly, and most importantly, they can remove unnecessary burdens and regulations to create a more friendly business environment to thrive. Government does not create wealth, but it can help best by being out of the way.
